Transport services resume amid ongoing delays
In a welcome development for commuters, the Central line and Bakerloo line have resumed normal operations. Passengers can now expect more efficient journeys free from the recent interruptions that affected these crucial transport routes.
Despite this positive news, minor delays persist on the Bakerloo line between Harrow & Wealdstone and Queen’s Park. These delays originated from a malfunctioning train at Wembley Central, which has since been resolved, allowing for improved service on the remainder of the line.
Traffic conditions and delays
This morning, road users and bus passengers faced various travel delays. Specifically, journey times on several routes have increased, with travel on Ardleigh Green Road, Gubbins Lane, Squirrels Heath Road, and Gooshays Drive taking an additional 15 to 20 minutes longer than usual.
On the Southend Arterial Road, delays are averaging between 25 and 30 minutes.
Additionally, minor delays of one to three minutes are reported on North Street as it moves away from Romford. Other routes are also experiencing slow traffic, particularly on the westbound A13 and southbound M11, especially during peak hours when vehicles divert to alternate pathways.
Current situation on the A406
Traffic congestion is significant on the A406, particularly on Sterling Way heading west, where queues extend past the Crooked Billet roundabout. Drivers are advised to consider alternative routes to avoid long delays.
Furthermore, the westbound section of the A406 North Circular Road is blocked at the junction with the A10 Great Cambridge Road due to a vehicle collision. Motorists are urged to steer clear of this area and allow extra time for their journeys.
Updates on services and disruptions
In railway news, the Mildmay line has resumed normal operation. However, a signalling fault between Southampton Central and Brockenhurst is causing trains to operate at reduced speeds. This disruption may lead to delays of up to 30 minutes and could result in cancellations or last-minute schedule changes until noon.
The affected trains are primarily those operated by South Western Railway traveling to and from London Waterloo. Engineers are currently on-site working to resolve the issue, and fewer trains than usual will be in operation during this time.
Late night and early morning train service changes
Passengers should be aware of ongoing engineering works between Alexandra Palace and Finsbury Park, resulting in certain lines being closed overnight. From approximately 10:30 PM on weekdays until 5:15 AM, trains will not stop at Hornsey or Harringay. To assist travelers, paper rail tickets will be accepted on London Buses at no additional charge.
Disruptions on the Mildmay line between Stratford and Willesden Junction are expected to last until around 8:30 AM. Additionally, the Central line has recently experienced significant delays due to a medical emergency on board, affecting only westbound services.
Despite this positive news, minor delays persist on the Bakerloo line between Harrow & Wealdstone and Queen’s Park. These delays originated from a malfunctioning train at Wembley Central, which has since been resolved, allowing for improved service on the remainder of the line.0
