Community support through vehicle donations
In a remarkable act of generosity, Dicksons of Inverness has taken a significant step to support local charities by donating vehicles that serve as a potential lifeline for those in need. This initiative aims to enhance the operational capabilities of three local organizations, providing them with the means to better serve their communities.
Impact on local charities
The dealership has donated two MG models to MFR Cash for Kids and Mikeysline, while Highland and Islands Blood Bikes received a new van. Each vehicle is adorned with the charity’s branding, thanks to local sponsors, which not only promotes the organizations but also raises awareness of their missions.
Fraser Bryce, the Managing Director of Dicksons, emphasized the importance of giving back to the community that has supported them over the years. He stated, “Each vehicle we donate is a potential lifeline,” highlighting the profound impact these donations can have on local initiatives.
Enhancing outreach and support
Lyndsay Rose, charity manager for Cash for Kids – North Scotland, expressed gratitude for the dealership’s ongoing support, noting that the vehicle donation is invaluable for their operations. “Having the car means our small team can get out to visit our supporters and beneficiaries without having to worry about the financial implications,” she said. This sentiment is echoed by Emily Stokes, CEO of Mikeysline, who remarked that the new vehicle will enable their team to reach individuals in the most remote areas of the region, thereby enhancing their mental health and suicide prevention services.
Addressing urgent needs
Gordon Scott from Highland and Islands Blood Bikes also shared his appreciation for the new van, stating that it will significantly improve their ability to transport urgent medical supplies for the NHS, especially during the challenging winter months. The support from Dicksons not only aids these organizations in their daily operations but also reinforces the importance of community collaboration in addressing urgent needs.
As Dicksons of Inverness continues to champion local causes, their commitment to enhancing community welfare through vehicle donations sets a commendable example for businesses everywhere. This initiative not only provides practical support but also fosters a spirit of collaboration and compassion within the community.
