A dedicated hillwalker from Fort William, Rasa Kilikeviciute, has been reported missing after not being seen for nine days. The 33-year-old was last in contact with her family on January 27, raising concerns for her safety.
Last known whereabouts
Rasa was attempting to hike the challenging Cape Wrath trail, which stretches from Durness in the north to Fort William in the south. Her last confirmed sighting was on January 20, when she was seen walking south along the road from Kinlochbervie to Rhiconich.

Details of the missing hiker
When last seen, Rasa was wearing a bright orange waterproof jacket and carrying a large rucksack. Authorities have noted that she may have access to a tent, but she is also known to utilize bothies, which are basic shelters used by hikers in remote areas. Rasa speaks with a Lithuanian accent, which may help in identifying her if spotted.
Community response and police appeal
Inspector Ross McCartney expressed deep concern for Rasa’s welfare, stating, “We are keen to trace her as soon as possible.” He emphasized that while Rasa is an experienced hillwalker, it is unusual for her to be out of contact with family and friends for such an extended period. The police are appealing to anyone who may have seen Rasa or has information regarding her whereabouts to come forward. Additionally, they are reaching out directly to Rasa, urging her to let them know she is safe if she sees the appeal.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Police Scotland at 101, quoting incident number 1177 from January 27. The local community is rallying together, with many expressing their hopes for Rasa’s safe return.
