Exploring Titanic memorabilia: A journey through history
The Titanic tragedy, which occurred on April 14/15, 1912, continues to captivate the public’s imagination over a century later. As we approach the anniversary of its sinking, enthusiasts and historians alike delve into the rich tapestry of artifacts and memorabilia that tell the story of this ill-fated ship.

Among those dedicated to preserving this history are Campbell and Janette McCutcheon, who run Fearn Antiques and Vintage Postcard Emporium in Easter Ross, Scotland. Their collection offers a unique glimpse into the past, showcasing items that connect us to the Titanic and its legacy.

For collectors like Campbell, a vintage dealer specializing in postcards, and Janette, an author and maritime history expert, the Titanic represents more than just a ship; it embodies a significant moment in history. Their collection includes a variety of items, from postcards to pieces of the ship itself. Although some of their most prized possessions are currently on loan, the couple’s passion for Titanic memorabilia shines through in their extensive collection.

Campbell explains, “It’s an opening window, which means it could only have come from the gymnasium or the top of the Grand Staircase.” Such artifacts not only serve as tangible connections to the past but also spark conversations about the lives of those who traveled aboard the Titanic.

This postcard, along with others that tell stories of the Titanic’s passengers, highlights the personal narratives intertwined with the ship’s history.
