In a significant operation targeting serious organized crime, Police Scotland has arrested three individuals following the recovery of drugs, including heroin and cocaine, with a street value exceeding £200,000. The arrests took place on Friday, May 23, during a series of coordinated search warrants executed at three properties in the Peterculter and Woodside areas of Aberdeen.

Details of the operation

The operation was intelligence-led, reflecting a broader strategy by law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and organized crime in the North East of Scotland. A 27-year-old man and two women, aged 25 and 26, were taken into custody and charged in connection with the drug seizures.

They are scheduled to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, May 26.

Community impact and police commitment

Detective Inspector John Pirie emphasized the importance of these seizures in disrupting drug supply chains and protecting local communities. He stated, “These seizures highlight our ongoing efforts to disrupt drug supply and underline our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.” The police are dedicated to preventing drugs from circulating on the streets, which is crucial for addressing the concerns of residents in the area.

Police Scotland has reiterated the importance of community involvement in tackling drug-related issues. Inspector Pirie encouraged the public to report any suspicious activity or concerns regarding drug use in their neighborhoods. “Information and support from the public is vital to our work, and I would encourage anyone with concerns about drug activity in their area to contact us via 101,” he added. The police are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community by actively pursuing those involved in the illegal drug trade.

This operation serves as a reminder of the ongoing battle against drug-related crime in Scotland and the crucial role that community vigilance plays in supporting law enforcement efforts.
