If you are in Milan and looking for a good pizzeria, this post could help you find out which restaurants serve the best pizza near the area where you live or work.
One of the best pizzerias in Milan is Il Pomodorino in Via Crema just behind Porta Romana; the place not only serves an exquisite Napolitan pizza but also offers delicious starters such as bread stuffed with aubergine .
Two other good pizzerias can be found in corso Lodi, one called Romano specialising in Egyptian pizza and the other Monterosso selling Italian pizza by the slice (it has a thick, soft crust! Really delicious).
Prices vary from 7,50 to 12, 50 euros.
In ogni caso, l’attesa è stata ricompensata, vedremo dopo: per fare un deathmatch tra tre pizzerie della zona, adatte alla pausa pranzo, possiamo fare una piccola mappa.
Personalmente mi sono affezionato a tre locali da quelle parti: Romano, in corso Lodi, Monterosso, che fa in pratica solo takeaway, sempre in corso Lodi, e il Pomodorino in via Crema.
Tre modi diversi di vedere la pizza e la pausa pranzo: Romano, a gestione egiziana, punta tutto sulla rapidità e sul prezzo, è il no frills della pizza.
Col menu a pranzo da 7,50 Euro porti nel tuo stomaco una pizza, una bibita e un caffé, decisamente concorrenziale.
Monterosso, storico pizzettaro da strada, ha prezzi simili per mangiare quantità equivalenti, col problema che ti devi sedere per strada – senza caffè.
Ma col plus di una qualità molto superiore alla pizza di Romano.
Monterosso fa pizze eccezionali, è quasi un peccato non potersi sedere o doversi appoggiare ai paletti o alla ringhiera della metropolitana lì vicino per mangiare… il Pomodorino invece è altra cosa ancora.
I frills ci sono eccome, la figosità del locale ha un prezzo – neanche troppo alto in realtà – e lo si vede nel conto.
La pizza è molto buona, come dicevamo all’inizio, soddisfa: è un altro stile di pizza rispetto a Romano – classica pizza egiziana, sottilissima – o Monterosso – tranci di pizza alta – ma 12,80 per una margherita, una birra media e un caffé, pur con una piccola macedonia di anguria compresa nel menu, mi sono sembrati un po’ tanti viste anche le alternative in zona.
