Dubai Land Department crowns White & Co as top freehold seller

From Edinburgh to Dubai, Calum White’s firm clinches the city’s highest freehold sales award after moving 3,000 homes in a year.

Dubai Land Department crowns White & Co as top freehold seller

Entrepreneur Calum White a native of Edinburgh, has guided his Dubai-based brokerage White & Co to a remarkable milestone. In the past twelve months the firm sold more than 3,000 properties across the emirate’s designated freehold areas earning it the most coveted accolade offered by the Dubai Land Department (DLD).

The DLD, the governmental body that records all real-estate transactions, recognises the broker that achieves the highest volume of sales in those zones where foreign buyers can own property outright.

The award spotlights White & Co’s rapid ascent since its inception in 2021.

Within five-and-a-half years the company expanded to roughly 700 staff members with about 90 % recruited from the United Kingdom. Revenue surged to the equivalent of £63 million last year, a 75 % increase over the previous period, underscoring the firm’s aggressive growth trajectory in a market that prizes both speed and reliability.

Why freehold sales matter in Dubai

The emirate’s freehold areas—including high-profile communities such as Dubai MarinaPalm JumeirahDowntown DubaiDubai Hills Estate and Jumeirah Golf Estates—allow non-UAE nationals to own property outright. This legal framework has attracted a steady stream of international investors, making transaction volume a key performance indicator for any brokerage. By topping the sales chart, White & Co demonstrated a deep understanding of buyer preferences, as well as the operational capacity to close deals efficiently.

Leadership perspective and future outlook

When asked about the honor, White said, “This is the most prestigious recognition a real estate brokerage in Dubai can receive because ultimately it comes down to the most important metric in our industry: transactions.” He added that the award represents “the biggest accolade White & Co has received since we started the company” and called it “the proudest moment in business.” Looking ahead, White is confident that the firm’s achievements “will never be done again,” emphasizing the pivotal role of his “amazing team” in sustaining market leadership.

The accolade not only validates White & Co’s past performance but also positions it for further expansion. With a solid foothold in the most lucrative freehold districts and a proven record of scaling operations, the brokerage is poised to leverage its reputation to attract additional international capital, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a global property hub.
