Loganair Resumes Christmas Flights from Belfast City to Isle of Man in 2025

Loganair steps in for Christmas flights between Belfast and the Isle of Man, reconnecting families during the festive season.

Loganair, the largest regional airline in the UK, is stepping up to provide much-needed festive flights between Belfast City Airport and the Isle of Man this Christmas. Following a year-long gap left by other airlines withdrawing, Loganair is set to operate three return flights, rekindling connections just in time for the holidays.

Flight details and schedule

This year marks the second consecutive holiday season in which Loganair has revived this important route. However, the airline will be offering one less return service compared to last year. The flights are scheduled for three successive Saturdays: December 20, December 27, and January 3.

Each flight will utilize a 72-seat ATR72-600 aircraft, catering to holiday travelers looking to reunite with family and friends during this special time.

Ticket prices and availability

Tickets are already available for purchase, starting at a competitive £69.99 for a one-way journey. Loganair’s commitment to reconnecting communities is evident in their proactive approach to reviving this crucial link. Luke Lovegrove, the chief commercial officer at Loganair, emphasized the airline’s dedication to facilitating travel during the festive season, stating, “Restoring our Isle of Man to Belfast City route for Christmas helps ensure passengers can travel home or welcome loved ones.”

The community’s response

Geoff Pugh, interim director at Isle of Man Airport, acknowledged the significance of these flights, highlighting their potential to positively impact the community. “Establishing these flights for Christmas will make a real difference, helping friends and family reconnect at such a special time of year,” Pugh remarked. The ongoing demand for year-round connectivity is being actively addressed as the airport engages with airlines to enhance travel options.

Importance of seasonal flights

Ellie McGimpsey, aviation development manager at Belfast City Airport, noted the high volume of travelers during the holiday season, with around 10,000 people passing through the terminal daily. She remarked, “These seasonal services play an important role in reconnecting loved ones.” Loganair’s initiative not only meets the immediate travel needs but also reinforces the airline’s commitment to supporting the Isle of Man with vital air connectivity.

Future of the route

As the holiday season approaches, Loganair’s decision to reinstate these flights offers a glimpse of hope for travelers eager to celebrate with family. Will this route see permanent restoration in the future? The community eagerly awaits answers as Loganair continues to assess demand and explore options for enhancing connectivity beyond the festive period. With a renewed focus on meeting passenger needs, Loganair is poised to play a crucial role in the region’s air travel landscape.
