As he navigated the grief of losing Technoblade, Tommy felt a deep obligation to contribute to the cause. “Now that some time has passed, I realize how important it is to help in any way I can.
It’s the least I can do to honor Alex’s memory,” he explained. Technoblade’s battle with cancer began in 2021, when he initially attributed arm pain to gaming strain. However, a sudden swelling prompted a hospital visit, where doctors diagnosed him with a sarkoma that had already spread.

Tommy emphasizes the significance of this initiative, stating, “It’s a worthy cause, and I wanted to contribute in any way possible. The new facility at GOSH is set to open in 2029 and aims to address these challenges. With an ambitious target of raising £100 million yet to be met, the hospital’s fundraising efforts have already amassed over £200 million since the appeal began two years ago. The new center will include advanced operating theatres, a larger critical care unit, and enhanced facilities that support the holistic care of young patients.
Sarah Bissell, deputy director of relationship fundraising at GOSH Charity, shared her excitement for the future, stating, “This new center will revolutionize how we care for children with complex cancers. We’re striving to provide every child the chance to access innovative clinical trials, moving beyond traditional treatments like chemotherapy and radiotherapy.”
