As part of their educational experience, students will contribute to SportsByte, our student-managed website covering sports news across the North-East. This platform not only enhances their writing and editing skills but also allows them to share their work with a wider audience.
Internship opportunities
Additionally, students gain access to exclusive partnerships with local sports organizations, including Durham County Cricket Club, Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club, and Sunderland AFC. Each year, one final-year student is awarded a part-time internship with Sunderland AFC, providing unmatched experience in match-day reporting and behind-the-scenes access to major sporting events.
Year three: Professional experience and portfolio development
The final year presents an opportunity for students to truly excel. They will publish their sports content weekly through JPI Media for an entire semester.
