Accommodation options for new undergraduates
New students starting at Essex in October 2026 can explore various accommodation options. Our Allocation Policy outlines the criteria for application, detailing guarantees for incoming students and prioritization for those returning or on waiting lists.
It is important to understand that once accommodation is allocated, you enter a legally binding contract with Accommodation Essex. Consequently, you will be responsible for paying rent for the entire term as specified in the contract.
Application process and deadlines
To apply for accommodation, you must first receive an academic offer from Essex University. If your application is submitted before the guarantee deadline of September 11, 2026, you will be assured accommodation. However, applications submitted after this date will be accommodated as space becomes available.
