Coronavirus. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has tested as positive. His condition is good and he "will continue to lead the government's response".

Coronavirus: Boris Johnson is positive. The Prime Minister has tested positive but he is in good condition: He claimed: “I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus” from self-isolation.

Our PM said he developed mild symptoms over last night. He declared he will now self-isolate in but will continue to work from home since the “Government needs his lead”.

Boris Johnson: his condition

He is self-isolating in his Downing Street offices, the government wrote that in an email. “Over the last 24 hours, I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus,” Johnson said on Friday, 27th March. “I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus.”

Johnson is the latest high-profile individual who contracted the virus after Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne.

He is cured by National Health Service staff on the advice of chief medical officer Chris Whitty. The PM also added: I have taken a test. That has come out positive. I’m working from home, I’m self-isolating”.

And then he added: “But, be in no doubt, I can continue, thanks to the wizardry of modern technology, to communicate with all my top team, to lead the national fightback against coronavirus.”

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab would stand in for Johnson if the Prime Minister is unable to carry out his duties. Johnson ended his Twitter video by thanking the public services for their efforts and reiterated his optimism that the country will overcome the virus challenge. “The more effectively we all comply with those measures, the faster our country will come through this epidemic and the faster we’ll bounce back,” he said. “We’re going to beat it and we’re going to beat it together. Stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.
