This afternoon’s Moto3 second free practice at Estoril saw a dry track and some warmer temperatures that allowed the riders use their slick tires with lap times naturally dropping accordingly.
The fastest rider in the forty minute session was Team Estrella Galicia 0,0s Miguel Oliveira.
The Portughuese rider pushed a last flying lap in 1:48.
497, to relegate KTM rider Sandro Cortese – who lead most of the practice – in second place and a mere 0.
014s adrift.
Third went to Luis Salom, while this morning’s FP1 leader Maverick Vinales fell to fourth after the race direction dropped his fastest lap which was done under the yellow flag regime due to a crash by wildcard rider Kevin Hanus.
Caretta Technology’s Alexis Masbou took the fifth spot, while new Italian racing sensation Romano Fenati moved up to sixth, but he was still more than one second slower than Oliveira.
Danny Kent was seventh followed by Louis Rossi and Adrian Martin (who switched to a FTR chassis at Jerez) and closing out the top ten was Australia’s Arthur Sissis onboard his KTM.
World Wide Racing will be fielding only Giulian Pedone this weekend, as Simone Grotzkyj Giorgi is unfit to race, suffering from a case of food poisoning.
