BMW R1200S Wunderlich Concept by Nicolas Petit

Nicolas Petit is a young French designer who has made a name for himself in the business thanks to his many elegant graphic concepts, mainly based on BMW models.
Actually, Petit has recently crossed the boundaries of the mere graphic renditions when he worked in cooperation with the renowned German aftermaket company Wunderlich to create the impressive S1000RR Mad Max, that we introduced a while ago in a dedicated post.

Recently, Petit and Wunderlich teamed up again for a special model based on the BMW HP2 Sport (that we will write about pretty soon) but the over-active Frenchman has also found the time to develop a study on the most iconic motorcycle of the BMW Motorrad range, the mighty R1200 GS, and once again the ‘vision’ he came up with is a pretty radical reinterpretation of the original bike.

What we got here is in fact a real sportsbike, disegned around the flat-twin boxer engine of the model year 2013 which was firstly introduced at the Intermot show in Cologne last October and then showed up at the EICMA exhibition in Milan in November.

This cool concept-bike comes with a design that is somewhat reminiscent of the HP2 (i.
e.
the single-sided swingarm and the underseat exhausts) but nonetheless it has its own and well-defined personality, and it is quite elegant too.
Given the ongoing partnership between Monsieur Petit and Wunderlich it is possible that one day this concept will turn into a real bike, but with the BMW S1000RR and its track-oriented HP4 variant already out there, we believe it would have to struggle a bit to find its place in the marketplace.
Similarly, we are certain that there are many riders out there who would not mind to take it out for a spin at all.
