More MotoGP testing in 2011?

Just a year and half ago the FIM and Dorna decided to cut the 2009 and 2010 pre-season testing days as a cost saving measure to just six days and allowed only two days of tests during the racing season, however there have been several complaints by MotoGP rookies and veterans (especially those who switched teams) that this limited number of days aren’t enough to learn the complexity of setting-up MotoGP prototype bikes.

The teams at last week’s Brno GP race asked the Gran Prix Commission to add four more testing days in 2011 and according to MCN they could see an extra day added after the post race test in Valencia with Jerez put back on the testing calendar at the end of November and another two days between February and March at Phillip Island, between the two days programmed at Sepang.

Discussions are already being held to further increase testing when the new 1000cc rules will be introduced in 2012.
