From local beginnings to international expansion, GRPZ Sports is making waves in the sportswear industry.

Topics covered
In the competitive landscape of sportswear, one young entrepreneur from Aberdeen is making significant strides. Adam Joji, at just 24 years old, has launched GRPZ Sports, a brand specializing in grip socks designed to enhance athletic performance. This innovative product aims to provide athletes with a superior grip inside their footwear, reducing slippage and improving overall performance.
Rapid growth and strategic partnerships
Since its inception, GRPZ Sports has experienced remarkable growth, securing partnerships with several professional football clubs, including St Mirren, Livingston, Raith Rovers, Salford City, Wycombe Wanderers, and Cardiff City. Joji’s ambition doesn’t stop there; he is currently in discussions with sports retailer Decathlon to expand the brand’s reach and is also negotiating a partnership with an English Premier League club, aiming for a deal by the end of the year.
A passion for football and entrepreneurship
Joji’s journey into the world of sportswear began with his deep-rooted love for football. Growing up, he progressed through the youth system of Cove Rangers and later played junior football with Bridge of Don Thistle. His passion for the sport inspired him to create a product that could benefit athletes at all levels. Last year, GRPZ Sports saw an astonishing 964% increase in sales, with 36% of those sales coming from the United States, highlighting the brand’s growing international appeal.
Quality and innovation at the forefront
Joji invested a significant five-figure sum into GRPZ Sports, dedicating two years to the design and perfection of the grip socks, which are manufactured in Asia. The feedback from athletes and clubs has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the quality, durability, and effectiveness of the product. Joji stated, “The response the products have had from clubs and players has been exceptional. They’ve all been more than happy to partner with us.”
Future aspirations and product expansion
With a recent five-figure funding boost from Apollo Informal Investments, Joji is focused on increasing brand awareness and expanding the product line. The upcoming grip reformer sock is set to target fitness enthusiasts who enjoy Pilates and gym workouts. Joji’s vision includes securing a high-profile partnership with an English Premier League club and establishing GRPZ Sports in Decathlon’s marketplace within the next year.
As Joji continues to navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship, his goal remains clear: to see GRPZ Sports thrive as a self-sustaining business while providing athletes with top-quality products that enhance their performance.
