UK Sport, the nation’s high-performance sports authority, is on the hunt for a Junior Lawyer to join their Legal & Integrity team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain broad experience in a purpose-driven organization that powers the UK’s greatest athletes and sporting events.

Based in Loughborough, London, or Manchesterwith regular remote working options, this full-time position comes with a competitive salary of £53,000. The application deadline is 21 June 2026with first-round interviews scheduled for the week commencing 29 June 2026.

The Junior Lawyer Role: A Dynamic and Varied Opportunity

As a Junior Lawyer at UK Sport, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the Legal & Integrity team. Your responsibilities will span contracts, grant funding, integrity matters, and data protection. You’ll lead on information governance, including data protection processes, FOI requests, and data sharing agreements, ensuring strong governance and compliance across the organization.

Beyond these core tasks, you’ll advise colleagues on contracts and funding decisions, contribute to integrity and safeguarding work, and help manage relationships with government partners like the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). This role also offers the chance to get involved in projects, improve processes, and shape how legal support is delivered within UK Sport.

Collaboration and Growth

You’ll work closely with the Senior Lawyer, the wider Legal & Integrity team, and colleagues across UK Sport, as well as external partners. This collaborative environment offers excellent exposure, responsibility, and development opportunities within a supportive team.

Who Are We Looking For?

UK Sport is seeking an early-career qualified lawyer who is eager to learn and grow. The ideal candidate will have experience advising on contracts and/or data protection matters, strong organizational skills, and excellent attention to detail. You should be comfortable managing a varied workload in a fast-paced environment and possess clear communication skills.

Additional desirable qualities include experience working in-house or within a commercial legal environment, knowledge of public law or the public sector landscape, and an interest in acting as a Data Protection Officer. An understanding of the UK sporting system is a bonus but not required.
