Based on a top vet, the UK Prime Minister is not taking the prospect of a national pig cull thoughtfully. The National Pig Association mentioned some 600 pigs have already been shot. Then the next stage is a mass cull.

Mr Berkshire responded that the PM can’t see the difference between the UK supply chain and food wastage. Food wastage is when having to shoot healthy pigs.

Mr Berkshire is liaising with the Department for Environment and Rural Affairs (Defra) to undertaking farms’ overpopulation attention as adult pigs are not being butchered fast enough.

Zoe Davies, chief executive of the National Pig Association stated there was a contrast between animals being killed for meals and culled. Reacting to the PM’s comments she replied, “These animals were going to feed the population. It should not be permitted to proceed.”
She ordered the government to raise the number of worker visas for abattoirs and to lower the English language qualification. She also informed that there has not been a mass cull of pigs yet, such action is “the next stage in the process”.
