Mission One Electric Sportbike

Unveiled at the Technology, Entertainment, Design (TED) conference, the Mission One from Mission Motors (formerly known as Hum) and designed by Yves Behar and fuseproject have presented the world’s first production electric sportbike with a top speed of 150 MPH and an estimated range of 150 miles.

Mission Motors says they will also race in the TTXGP, the world’s first zero-carbon Grand Prix.

The TTXGP is scheduled to be held at 10:45am on June 12th, 2009 as part of the Isle of Man TT races.

Forrest North, CEO of Mission Motors said: “The TTXGP is the perfect platform for us to show how far electric bike innovation has come and to express what Mission Motors is all about.
That’s why we’ve chosen this event to debut our Mission One motorcycle and prove that speed, endurance and performance can all be achieved in a sustainable way.
” “The Isle of Man TT races are steeped in history, not only in terms of racing but also in terms of innovation.
As a motorcycle enthusiast and engineer I knew I could combine my passion for motorcycles with my passion for innovation and create a motorcycle that truly sets a new standard in the perception of electric vehicles.

With the Mission One, we’re writing the next chapter in motorcycle design, delivering a new riding experience without sacrificing performance or design in a zero emissions vehicle.
”On the back of the TTXGP, Mission Motors will sell 50 Premier Limited Edition Mission One bikes, with upgraded equipment, for delivery in early 2010, followed by 250 Mission One bikes in the 2010 model year.
“With the TTXGP still in its inaugural year, we’re already seeing incredible advances in zero-carbon motorcycle technology.
The mission motors team brings with it the energy, enthusiasm and passion that will help make the TTXGP 2009 a history defining event.
” said Azhar Hussain, TTXGP Founder.
