Alvaro Bautista gets green light at Estoril

It was just the usual formality, because circuit medical commissions never turn anyone down especially MotoGP riders, and this includes Rizla Suzuki’s Alvaro Bautista who has been given the green light to ride at this weekend’s Estoril GP.
Bautista was examined by Chief Medical Officer Dr.

Sarmento and deemed fit to return to action and tomorrow’s free practice session will see the Spaniard ride just 42 days after breaking his left femur in Qatar.

If Bautista should decide that he isn’t strong enough to race or if the track conditions prove to be risky for the recovering rider (heavy rains are predicted all weekend) Suzuki test rider Nobuatsu Aoki is on hand to take over.

“I am really pleased I have been given the ok to ride, but I must now see what it feels like to get on a MotoGP bike.
I have done a bit of Supermotard riding and that felt good, but that is nothing like riding the GSV-R.
I will see how things go tomorrow morning and we will make a decision about the rest of the weekend after that.
