Mercedes-AMG to sponsor Ducati MotoGP?

Mercedes AMG and Ducati.
This could be the next sponsor combination in 2011.
Reeling about the thought? You shouldn’t if you consider that a car company like FIAT has already sponsored Yamaha in MotoGP.
The two iconic marques have already collaborated together in this year’s World Ducati Week at Misano, when the German car manufacturer brought in their SLS AMG GT3 for motorcycle fans try out and are still together in a marketing campaign for the new SLK dubbed ‘Naked’.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Mercedes may end up sponsoring the Ducati MotoGP team with their AMG logo.
The Italian sports daily is also reporting that a 3-year tentative agreement contract was negotiated when the first rumors of Valentino Rossi switching to the Italian team came out.

This would be a great marketing coup for the Italian factory, who can count on another high profile sponsor investing in their racing efforts.
