WSBK – Leon Haslam leaves Stiggy Racing, Hopkins unsure of where he's going

When WSBK team Stiggy Racing announced they were splitting with their financial partners, S2 Racing because the sponsor was unable to fulfill their financial commitments with the team, owner Johan Stigefelt left some doubt regarding the future of the teams participation in 2010 World Superbike and Supersport Championship, and many were left wondering where that would leave Leon Haslam and John Hopkins.

Italian website gpone is reporting that Leon Haslam will not be racing for Stiggy Honda in 2010 and that Stigefelt, due to the uncertainty of the situation has parted with the English rider.
Haslam, who is currently 6th in the WSBK standings, has been strongly linked to an Alstare Suzuki ride and is due to announce the move to Batta’s team at the next round at Portimao.

Apparently John Hopkins has been informed of Stiggy’s predicament, because in Hopkin’s video diary that we posted half an hour ago, the American states he doesn’t know where he’ll be riding next year and is looking for a new ride.
