WSBK: Yoshimura Suzuki will not be at Imola or Magny Cours

Yoshimura Suzuki has announced that they will not compete in the last two races of the 2010 WSBK championship.
The current All Japan Superbike team had already taken part at the Monza round with Daisaku Sakai (who pulled out after an injury picked up in Race 1) was planning to take race in final two rounds at Imola and Magny Cours, ahead of an expected full time entry in 2011, but the team is going through financial problems and has decided to put their plans for racing at an international level on hold.

“The economic situation has been very tough after the crisis, and unfortunately the motorcycle markets and industries have been affected a lot since then.
From this fact, we have chosen to put our current plans on hold, and then aim for other possibilities in the near future.

” said a statement from the team.
The Yoshimura team with Dakai, Kagayama and Aoki took the pole position in this year’s 8 Hours of Suzuka and finished in sixth, after Daisaku Sakai crashed out twice in the endurance race.
