BMW S1000RR wins Bike of the Year award in Japan!

BMW’s S1000RR has won several awards so far since its debut and has been a sales success for the German manufacturer, but winning the Bike of the Year in Japan has got to be the greatest satisfaction ever, while thumbing their nose at the Japanese big four who have literally ruled the Supersports category in that country forever.

BMW Motorrad Japan director, Ekrem Sak recently accepted the Supertest World Association (SWA) ‘Bike of the Year Award’ for the RR in Japan from Kohei Ichimoto, Editor in Chief of the Japanese motorcycle magazine, Young Machine.
This is the first time that a BMW motorcycle has won an award in Japan.
