Vitto Guareschi: We don't have a plan B if Valentino leaves

Vittoriano Guareschi and his brother Gianfranco ‘Guaro’ have been long time friends with Valentino Rossi, even before the former World Champion arrived in Ducati in 2011, but speaking as Ducati’s team manager to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Guareschi seems to be even more in the dark regarding Rossi’s future intentions.

“I hope that Valentino stays with us, I’ve got the feeling that he hasn’t signed anything yet.
I said good-bye to Valentino before he boarded a plane to Ibiza and he told me that he’d be back a week later and until then we wouldn’t discuss anything regarding next year.

I don’t know what will happen and he left without revealing any clues.
”Ducati’s CEO Gabriele del Torchio gave Rossi Ducati’s offer during last weekend’s MotoGP weekend at Laguna Seca (they still want to keep him despite his very dismal results – and not giving him any assurances that the Desmosedici will be able to be competitive even with Audi coming aboard).
Guareschi can’t seem to contemplate Ducati without Rossi, who still seems very important to the team, “The truth is that there is no plan B.

Plan A is so important that there isn’t anything else.
The ball is on his side of the court and we’re waiting.
I’m going to the beach now and try not to think what would happen if he should leave, but rather come up with an idea on what we can improve with him.
