Ducati Mistake by Bonhams

Bonhams, the famous auction house got caught out by Italian magazine Motociclismo in their December -January issue, when they placed in their catalogue a Ducati 750 claiming that it was the bike that Bruno Spaggiari’s used in the 1973 200 Imola race.

Unfortunately Bonhams made a mistake, because the bike being auctioned wasn’t Spaggiari’s, but the one used by Englishman Mick Grant.

The Italian is still is the proud owner of his bike with his racing number as you can see in the photo.

Bonham on its web site has now corrected their error saying that the bike was rode by Mick Grant and was one the three desmos prepared by Ducati for the 1973 Imola race.
The bike is being auctioned between £ 250,000-350,000.
