Personal Appearance
Although it is often overlooked by perspective employees, how you look can greatly affect your chances of being hired.

Dress Conservatively
Neutral colours, like black or beige, are often considered to be the best colors when dressing for a job interview.

Men should wear a button down shirt and tie, along with a nice suit. Women can either wear a pant suit or a knee length skirt. Clothes should also be neat, clean, and pressed.

Brush Your Hair
Neat hair is also important.

Men should have their hair combed neatly. Women should wear their hair back away from the face. A neat bun or ponytail is acceptable.

Get a Manicure
Clip and file your nails. Also, don’t forget to clean any dirt or grime from underneath the tips of your nails. Show Up Early
Most experts recommend that you show up for your job interview between ten and fifteen minutes early. This will show that you are punctual and dependable.

Act Confident
Even if you don’t feel very confident, act it! Walk and sit with good posture. Offer a firm handshake when you meet your interviewer. Also, don’t forget to smile and make eye contact!

Relax
Interviewers don’t expect an immediate answer to their interview questions. Instead, take a few breaths and think about your answer before speaking. By doing this, there is less chance to that you will say something you will regret later. Also, speak with excellent grammar, and avoid slang terms.

Thank Your Interviewer
At the end of the interview, be sure to thank the interviewer and shake his or her hand. When you get home, write a quick thank you note as well. It is best if this note is dropped in the mail, but if a decision will be made quickly, an e-mail is acceptable.
