In an interview given to the Evening Standard, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle called for an end to structural racism in the UK. The video was released to commemorate the start of Black History Month.

Prince Harry said that he has experienced an “awakening” since meeting his biracial wife and declared: « We as white people don’t always have the awareness of what it must be like for someone else of a different coloured skin, of a black skin, to be in the same situation as we are where the world that we know has been created by white people for white people ».

The Sussexes in their article for the paper also wrote the following: « For as long as structural racism exists, there will be generations of young people of colour who do not start their lives with the same equality of opportunity as their white peers. And for as long as that continues, untapped potential will never get to be realised ».

Harry also backed Diversity leader Ashley Banjo whose dance routine on Britain’s Got Talent received over 24,500 Ofcom complaints as according to certain disgruntled viewers the routine showed anti-capitalist and anti-police sentiments.

He evidenced the backlash to the dance as proof as to why the UK is, according to him, racist.

The couple stepped down from royal duties earlier this year reportedly to escape intense media scrutiny in the UK. Since then they have moved to California, signed a multi-million pound deal with streaming titans Netflix in which they are set to be given their own reality TV show and released a video which, not very subtly, denounced President Trump and endorsed his opponent Joe Biden despite the fact that the royal family are obliged not to interfere in political matters.
