As the furlough scheme come to an end, there will be a rise in unemployment. A Government minister assures it is part of the process. Simon Clarke, Chief Secretary to the Treasury said that there will be the type of consequences and some job losses.
He explained, “Furlough has defended 11.6 million jobs in total. At some point, you have to close these crisis measures.
People’s jobs will be formulated just as some have been lost, that is section of the process of finishing this crisis and going back to normal.”
Mr Clarke also claimed that the government never said it could guard every job because the pandemic made an impact on the economy. It modified some things. However, he declared that there are these opportunities there.
He clarified as the £70 billion furlough programme finishes on Thursday.
The programme helped millions of UK workers over the past 18 months.
