Ducati Gulf Oil Cafe Racer

Today’s special comes from the US, where Mr.
Johann Keyser runs CAV America, one of the leading builders of Ford GT40 replicas.
Among other things, CAV America is the only GT40 builder with the rights to replicate the official Gulf Oil color scheme that has almost become synonymous with the legendary Ford sports car of the 60s.

Then again, among other things, CAV America’s boss Johann Keyser is a motorcyclist too.
Now you can put two and two together.
As you will soon find out, the Ducati Gulf Oil Cafe Racer uses parts from many different Ducati models.

Its steel trellis frame comes from a 749 S and has been modified in order to accommodate an air-cooled 900 i.
e.
engine, which is mated to a custom-made two-into-one exhaust system that terminates with a light SS muffler.
The single-sided swingarm has been lifted from a Monster S4R, the tank is a modified version of the 999 fitment, and the fairing is a modified glass fiber SS upper.
Forks come from a 916 as well as the wheels, which have been painted in order to mimic BRM wheels equipping its famous granny.

Seat and seat frame are from Spanish company Radical Ducati.
