Marc Marquez takes Moto2 pole position at Estoril

Marc Marquez took his second pole position of the season – his 9th in Moto2 – during today’s qualifying session at Estoril.
The Spanish star dominated most of the session only to see Thomas Luthi put in a flying lap with just two minutes left in the session, however Marquez wasn’t willing to settle for second as he posted a final lap of 1’41″241 that left his fellow Suter rider just a little more than one tenth adrift.

Scott Redding took his Marc VDS Racing Team Kalex to third and complete the front row.
Moto2 rookie Johann Zarco managed a fourth spot on the grid despite a crash and finished ahead of Jerez winner Pol Espargaro.
Andrea Iannone finally got out of the back field as he qualified 6th after struggling through yesterday’s practice sessions.

Blusens Avintia Julian Simon was seventh while Toni Elias took 8th followed by Alex De Angelis who suffered a crash while bettering his lap times, while Dominique Aegerter closed out the top ten.
With 16 riders within one second, tomorrow will be one interesting Moto2 race.
