New V8 engine for the Audi A6 and A8

2007 announcements are coming thick and fast from Audi.
After announcing the A3 1.
9 TDI with the S-Tronic Gearbox and the A4 2.
0 TDI with 170 ps, it’s time for the big sisters, the A6 and A8.

First and foremost, the new V8 engine:One of the world’s most modern eight-cylinder engines is now available for the Audi A6 and A8 model lines.

2 FSI, closely related to the high-revving V8 in the Audi RS 4, develops considerably more power than its 335 bhp predecessor.

With the aid of petrol direct injection, it now generates 350 bhp (257 kW).
And at the same time, its fuel consumption is around 10 percent lower.
The immense power of the eight-cylinder engine is transferred via 6-speed tiptronic transmission and quattro permanent four-wheel drive.

The price is almost unvaried (4-500 € more than the 335 hp version).
Other engine news: the A6 3.
0 V6 TDI is getting a new power-step (233 hp, like the rest of the Audi range).
The A6 and A8 are also getting a new advanced parking system, with a wide angle camera and guidance lines on the display, the same one that is already available on the Q7.

The A8 is also getting a new central display (it goes from 3″ to 5″) and a new Rear Seat Entertainment system, with color screens in the front seat headrests.
