That Jorge Lorenzo is the 2010 MotoGP champion is all well and good but you’ve got to wonder if he isn’t asking himself what he needs to do to have the glory he deserves.
In an incredible race from Valentino Rossi at the MotoGP Sepang round, he carved up the grid starting from back in second row and entering the first turn in 11th position only to finish in the number one spot on the podium.
In fact, and especially if you’re a Rossi fan, you’ll probably agree that he stole Lorenzo’s thunder in the most convincing and dramatic of ways.
This time not because Rossi and Lorenzo had the tussle they had at last week’s MotoGP Motegi, but because Rossi showed what pure, superior riding skills he has.
Watching closely at the presentation on the podium, I could have sworn Rossi even winked at Lorenzo at one point.
We’re certain it was a wink to say ‘well done champion’ but it’s also a very telling gesture from the top spot on the podium down to third.
Just a reminder that Rossi is still around….
