Valentino Rossi has declined Jean Alesi’s invitation to drive in the 24 Hours of Le Mans next June.
The Italian rider interrupted his vacation to respond to the many calls he received after that Alesi revealed he wanted Rossi with him on the Ferrari he’s going to race at Le Mans.

Valentino Rossi speaking to the Italian newspaper Il Giornale:“I have to decline Alesi’s invitation.
In that period (June) we have three races (May 30, the Italian Grand Prix, June 6, the British GP and June 26, the Dutch GP) so it would be absolutely impossible to drive in the 24 hours at that time.

I usually take part in other competitions before or after the MotoGP season and never during, especially in month that is so full of races … I’ve even given up the idea of taking part in the Mexico Rally in 2010 that will be held in March and that takes place just before the start of the championship, however I’d like to thank Alesi for the invitation.
