A Harley for Lincoln’s Bicentennial

A Harley-Davidson honoring Abraham Lincoln has been unveiled at the Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield.
It’s called the ‘Circuit Rider‘ and was designed by Kim Shirley of Kim’s Auto Body Inc.

Based on Harley-Davidson’s Cross Bones model, the Circuit Rider is a virtual display of Lincoln features.

The gas tank bears the likeness of Lincoln’s head and the stovepipe hat serves as the air cleaner intake, a gavel hangs on the front frame.
A replica of the gun used to kill Lincoln hangs on the back wheel frame.

The wheels are copper colored with three oversized Lincoln pennies.
The penny design also is engraved in the bike’s chromed brake rotors.
Lincoln brass medallions adorn the front brake calipers.
Foot pegs are copies of mid 1800s shackles, representing slavery.
