Valentino Rossi number one for Italy's favourite sport stars

While Valentino Rossi has come in at number one on the list of Italy’s favourite sports stars, unfortunately there were really no prices for having guessed that.
We didn’t even take bets on this in the office.
Not even a significant tax scandal could get in the way of Rossi’s popularity, which means either Italians are not so fussed on paying taxes or they just really love their “Vale”.

What’s more, equally quirky Marco Simoncelli came in third.

Depending on your point view, he could either be riding on Valentino’s coat tails in a copy-cat style, or actually be that personality he seems to be.
Either way, it’s apparent that Italians really love character in their sports stars, and there’s something about speed which gets every man’s heart racing.
