Final Day of MotoGP testing in Sepang

Casey Stoner hit the top of the charts again on the third and final test day in Malaysia today, with a blistering lap of 2’01.
043 on the last of his 38 turns of the Sepang circuit, limiting his track time because of his on-going wrist problem.

094s behind Stoner posting a best time of 2.

Loris Capirossi with his factory Suzuki 2009 GSV-R finished again in the top three, 0.
219s behind Stoner and just over a tenth of a second behind Rossi .

His race simulation with a softer tire (requested by Bridgestone) would have been sufficient to beat Rossi’s 2008 race pace but was hampered in the end by a mechanical problem.
Tech 3 Yamaha’s Colin Edwards was the fastest rider on satellite machinery, lapping fourth quickest on the new Yamaha M1 but cutting short his test due to neck pain.
Toni Elias was just half a second off Stoner’s pace and the fastest Honda rider on his factory spec San Carlo Honda Gresini RC212V.
Aussie Chris Vermeulen was sixth with a best time 2.

Jorge Lorenzo was nearly a second behind Stoner and teammate Rossi however made some progress with his Bridgestone clad Yamaha as he logged a best of 2.

Andrea Dovzioso (Repsol Honda) demonstrated a good pace but decide against putting in a full race simulation.
Mika Kallio was the second Ducati rider in 9th, a big improvement from previous days, Nicky Hayden continues to improve, his best lap of 2.

497 was slower than rookie Mika Kallio on the Pramac Ducati but also remains a second and a half behind teammate Stoner.
Hayden also crashed at turn two the same one that caught out other riders on the previous two days.
MotoGP official night testing will return in March in Qatar.
