Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade C-ABS test

Lorenzo Baroni from “Special” magazine has sent us some details from Qatar on the new CBR600RR and CBR1000RR 2009 versions from Honda, with the biggest news being the ABS integrated braking system developed for the top sports range bikes.
The Honda debuts ABS on the first series sports bike with some impressive results, such as rapid deceleration.

The strong point in this system is the braking capacity in limited conditions such as wet or dirty roads, and breaking when leaning.
The classic problems of steering and rear blocking are avoided, without limits on the sports nature of the bike or its deceleration power.

ABS is available on both models at a price of a little more than 1,000 euros.
We tested the bike on the track with official Honda riders Jonathan Rhea and world champion Andrew Pitt (in the photo with Lorenzo), and then on the road in wet conditions, with sand on the asphalt, in the presence of Martin Bauer, German SBK rider.

Martin Bauer is in the below video in brake testing, and after extensive trials has decided to use ABS for the 2009 national SBK season.

We wait for the results!
