Carlos Checa once again showed why Miller Motorsports Park is one his favourite tracks dominating Race 2 from flag to flag.
The Althea Ducati rider got the holeshot and after the first turn opened his throttle and at the end of lap 1 had already put a full one second lead while saying ‘hasta la vista, baby’ to the rest of the field.

Heading to Misano in 10 days, the Spaniard takes home a full 50 points and lengthens his lead in the championship standings to 61 points over Marco Melandri and 62 points over Max Biaggi.

While the race 1 podium saw all Ducati’s, race 2 saw again another Italian manufacturer sweep up the final two spots, but this time it was the Aprilia’s, with an excellent Leon Camier taking the second spot and reigning World Champion Max Biaggi, who bounced back from his DNF in race 1 to take third.
Eugen Laverty ended the race in a far away fourth, with Michel Fabrizio who set some of the fastest lap times charging through the field to take a fifth, avenging his DNF in race 1.

Marco Melandri finished in sixth, while Sylvain Guintoli, who was third in race one, took seventh place.

His team-mate Jakub Smrz, second in race 1 was eighth, both riders unable to repeat their race 1 performances.
Ayrton Badovini was once again the best BMW finisher taking the ninth position after holding off Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea.
These last two riders gave us one of the few really entertaining battles of the race that went to the finish line, with Sykes getting the best of Rea to take the tenth spot.
Non finishers included Noriyuki Haga, Ruben Xaus who binned it again, and Troy Corser.
James Toseland did not part in race 2.
