MotoGP Jerez races safe until 2016

While Spain is currently hosting four MotoGP races, the idea of losing one of the best loved and best attended venues as Jerez de la Frontera just didn’t sit right, but fans can now rest assured as the Andalucian regional government has come to the rescue.

Last month news trickled out that the circuit was in financial difficulties and had their assets frozen by the courts after defaulting payments for work carried out on the 2005 makeover, but since the event generates large tourist revenues and publicity for the region, the Andalucian government through their Tourism and Sports Board has decided back the Jerez MotoGP races until 2016, and not only.

The Tourism board has also decided to invest in promoting the Andalusia region internationally with banners and logos which will appear at the Assen, Silverstone, Brno, Le Mans and Sepang rounds.
