Store in Bridge of Don to welcome customers back this weekend after repairs.

Topics covered
The Asda supermarket located in Middleton Park, Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, is preparing to reopen its doors to customers this weekend after being closed for nearly two weeks due to a fire incident. The blaze, which occurred in the early hours of March 3, resulted in significant smoke damage, prompting the store’s temporary closure.
Reopening details and services
Officials have confirmed that the supermarket will officially reopen at 8 AM on Saturday, March 15. In a positive development, the in-store pharmacy has already resumed operations, allowing customers to collect their prescriptions once again.
However, shoppers have been advised that the store will not be fully operational immediately upon reopening.
Stock availability and services resumption
While the supermarket is set to welcome back its customers, certain departments, particularly the George clothing and general merchandise sections, are expected to be somewhat understocked initially. Asda has indicated that it will take some time to replenish these areas fully. Additionally, the store’s click and collect service will not be available until March 17, two days after the reopening.
Community support and gratitude
Grant McHardy, the general store manager at Asda Middleton Park, expressed his gratitude towards the staff, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and all third-party partners who contributed to the swift recovery efforts. He stated, “Following the smoke damage caused by the fire last week, we have been working day and night behind the scenes to get the store back up and running again.” McHardy also thanked customers for their understanding and patience during the closure, emphasizing the store’s eagerness to welcome them back.
The petrol station at the store has remained operational throughout the closure, providing essential services to the community. As the reopening approaches, both staff and customers are looking forward to returning to a familiar shopping environment.
