“Soon after the horse left the starting gate, we were notified that the favourite had his left hind leg on the running board just before the start, which resulted in him not being able to jump out on terms with the rest of the field,” said Shaun Parkerhead of stewarding at the British Horseracing Authority (BHA). This incident added a layer of drama to the race, highlighting the unpredictable nature of horse racing.
