Lady Gaga leads the 2020 MTV EMAs
The success of the Rain on Me singer seems unstoppable. For this year’s EMAs she received seven nominations, including best song, best video and best collaboration only for her bop with Ariana Grande in Rain on Me.
Following behind, there are Justin Bieber and BTS with five nominations each. The 2020 EMAs covered new categories like Best Latin, Video for Good and Best Virtual Live. This year both Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber have also been nominated for the E! People’s Choice Award.
Lady Gaga, the front runner for the 2020 EMAs, took home five MTV Video Music Awards only about a month ago when she led the show with nine nominations and gave an inspiring message of courage to all the people watching her from home:
“Just because we’re separated right now and culture may feel less alive in some ways, I know a renaissance is coming and the wrath of pop culture will inspire you and the rage of art will empower you as it responds to hardship with its generosity and love.”
The full shortlist was confirmed on Tuesday and it includes BTS, nominated for Best Artist, Biggest Fans, Best Pop, Best Group and Best Virtual Live, as well as Little Mix, Katy Perry, Harry Styles and Nicki Minaj, who was shortlisted for her WAP video with Megan Thee Stallion. This year the music awards show will air on Sunday, November 8.
