Contents scales European M&A drive with 6th acquisition: buys Spain’s Balio to scale 600M Spanish-speaking market

Milan / Barcelona — [20, July 2026] — Contents, the enteprise execution platform that orchestrates AI agents, enterprise knowledge and approval workflows for global brands, has acquired Balio, a Barcelona-based enterprise company.

The transaction marks the sixth acquisition completed by the group and accelerates the buy-and-build strategy Contents has been executing across Europe for years.

The acquisition follows a strategy that has already led to five previous transactions across Europe: Scribeur in France, Lowpost in Spain, and Traduzione.it, Scribox and Zulla in Italy.

The strategy is consistent across all six acquisitions: acquire software businesses with established enterprise relationships, integrate Contents’ proprietary AI capabilities into their products and operations, and accelerate their growth, scalability and profitability.

Balio provides companies with a digital platform designed to improve the financial wellbeing of their employees through personalized tools, content and practical guidance.

Corporate financial wellbeing is becoming an increasingly strategic priority for employers, creating a fast-growing software category where AI can significantly improve personalization, engagement and operational efficiency.

The company has built one of the most valuable assets in enterprise software: trusted relationships with leading Spanish enterprises.

With the acquisition, those relationships become part of Contents’ enterprise footprint, creating opportunities to extend the group’s AI platform across an established customer base.

The acquisition reflects a broader conviction: AI will increasingly be distributed through the software platforms enterprises already use. Rather than replacing those platforms, Contents intends to transform them.

By integrating Contents’ AI infrastructure,. .Balio will strengthen its product, personalize user experiences at scale and expand its multilingual capabilities — delivering more value to clients without proportionally increasing its cost base, in each case in accordance with applicable data protection requirements and existing client agreements.

Balio’s clients will progressively gain access to Contents’ broader capabilities — from content orchestration and localization to enterprise knowledge management and automated workflows — while Contents’ international commercial network supports Balio’s expansion beyond Spain and into additional European markets.

The acquisition also confirms Spain’s growing importance within the group. With the Madrid team, the Barcelona office and two of its six acquisitions completed in the country, Spain has become one of Contents’ most strategic European markets — and a gateway to nearly 600 million Spanish speakers across Europe and Latin America.

“Balio is our sixth acquisition, but more importantly it is another execution of a strategy we have been building for years. We acquire enterprise software companies with trusted customer relationships and accelerate them through our AI infrastructure. Balio has an exceptional team, strong customers and a product with enormous growth potential. Our role now is to help Balio scale faster than it ever could on its own,” said Massimiliano Squillace, Founder and CEO of Contents.

“Joining Contents opens a completely new phase for Balio. We will continue to develop our vision and serve our clients with the same focus, while gaining access to advanced AI technology, international distribution and the resources of a larger European group. This will allow us to innovate faster, improve our platform and expand into new markets,” said Sergi Benet and Guillem Roig, co-founders of Balio.

The existing Balio team will remain a central part of the business and will work alongside Contents to develop the platform, support current clients and execute the next stage of growth. Contents will preserve Balio’s brand, expertise and market positioning, while progressively integrating the company into its technology and commercial ecosystem.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The transaction is part of Contents’ broader plan to consolidate complementary European software businesses and transform them through a shared Enterprise AI infrastructure.

The next generation of enterprise software will not be built from scratch. It will emerge from the transformation of the software companies enterprises already trust. That is the strategy Contents is executing.

The transaction was coordinated by Federica Ilaria Fornaciari of NoBrainer Partners, acting as M&A advisor. Balio was advised by Iñigo Rivero of LeJeune Abogados y Economistas, while Contents was advised by Simone Riva, Giulio Ciompi, and Carmen Fernández Vadillo of Ontier.
