What is clinical depression?
Clinical depression is a mental illness that can strike anyone at anytime. It does not matter your gender, age, ethnicity, religion, or culture. It can effect a person’s ability to function on a day-to-day basis. A sufferer may find it hard to get out bed, may avoid social situations, or isolate themselves completely.

It is one of the most severe types of depression. There over 17 million people suffering this disease, around the world. It effects everyone differently. It may just hit one day or build up over time.

There are three major types of clinical depression:

Major Depression

The sufferer will notice some of the symptoms listed below. It effects your everyday life, to the point of not being able to function.

crying for no reason
irritable feeling of hopelessness or worthlessness

These are all signs to look for if there is a possibility of depression. It is said that clinical depression can be brought-on by a chemical imbalance in the brain, genetic factors or alcohol and/or drug abuse.

The important thing is how to treat it. The best way to handle clinical depression is to see a mental health professional. They can make a diagnosis for you to determine the severity of your condition.

The doctor will find some treatment to help you manage your specific depression.
