Madrid show: German companies play at home

Or not? The Spanish show, recently finished on May 23, has again demonstrated it’s fertile ground for German industry with a string of announcements and debuts from Seat.
President of the company Erik Schmitt, enthusiastic about the return to verve of the brand, even dared this statement: “We will reach the same quality levels as Audi,” being proud of the presentation of two new models, the Ibiza and the Alhambra Ecomotive.

Audi is also playing its part, intent on presenting to Europe the Q5, on sale from autumn with its 170 and 240 hp engines, and the new A3/S3, with its facelift and extra power to boot.
Mercedes will complete the tour with its European presentation of the Glk, after its Asian debut.

Breaking this German monotony is Kia, working on the environmental front with the Eco line presentation, which should broaden offerings.
We should also see a special version, equipped with a 1.
6 diesel 115hp engine, with new aerodynamics and six-speed transmission, and a stop/start system which reduces emissions to 104g/km.
