From Donatello to Perugino: early Renaissance Masters on show in Rome

With this new exhibition at the Museo del Corso, Rome steps into the spotlight once again.
An exhibition that aims to show the world Rome’s contribution to the fifteenth century early Renaissance Art which many of us usually link to Florence.

More than 170 works are on display, borrowed from the most famous museums in the world from The Vatican to the British Museum.

The eternal city seen through the works of the great Masters of the early Renaissance.
Big names that include Mantegna, Pintoricchio, Donatello, Perugino e Michelangelo.

The show also employs multimedia technology to allow visitors to explore Rome as it would have been in the 15th century.
There’s even a three-dimensional reconstruction of the Cappella Carafa in Santa Maria Minerva which provides a close look at Lippi’s frescoes which would otherwise be scarcely visible.
After 20 years of restoration work visitors will also have the chance to see the famous Madonna con bambino by PierMatteo d’Amelia which will be on show from 20th May onwards.
