Police Scotland has launched a thorough investigation into the incidents, with Counter Terrorism Policing Scotland leading the probe. Superintendent Neil Wilson emphasized that there is no place for violence or hatred in their communities and that they are committed to protecting all residents.

The police have spoken to more than 90 multi-faith organizations and community leaders in Edinburgh and across Scotland. They are carrying out a community impact assessment and monitoring the situation closely to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all communities.

Wilson urged the public to use the Major Incident Public Portal to share any information, including doorbell and dashcam footage, that could aid the investigation.

CCTV footage obtained by the BBC has provided a chilling account of the moments leading up to the arrest of the suspect. The footage shows a topless man driving erratically before abandoning his car and attacking a black man and a delivery rider, wielding two large knives.
