KTM continues its work developing the new 1190 Super Duke, which will become part of their offering in 2013.
A prototype still in its testing stage has been immortalized in this spy photo published by website KTM Mania, which comes just a few days ahead the official presentation of the model at the Intermot show in Cologne, Germany (3-7 October).

The model should be equipped with a suitably revised version of the RC8 R engine, which could then have the same configuration as that of the new 1190 KTM Adventure range.

In this case, the new SuperDuke should boast a power of about 150 hp, which would allow it to compete in the same segment of the market of the Ducati Streetfighter and Aprilia Tuono V4 R.
We will be waiting for some confirmations about its engine, but more news are expected in regard to its electronic systems and price too, so that we will able to understand how the forthcoming Super Duke and Super Duke R will take on its fierce competitors.

However, in light of what we know about the new Adventure range, it seems reasonable to expect the presence of traction control, selectable mappings for the engine and ABS.

We won’t need to wait that long to figure that out though.
