Moto2 title rival Marc Marquez has been ruled out of today’s Malaysian GP after failing to pass the medical examination ahead of this morning’s warm-up practice.
The Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol-Suter rider was injured during the opening practice session when the track marshals failed to display the wet track flag which caused four riders to crash out.

The race organizers were fined € 15,000 for the error.
Marquez suffered injury to his left shoulder and neck, skipping the following two practice sessions and only rode three laps enough to qualify in 36th, but complained of a sore neck and dizziness.

With the Spaniard out of the running, this opens the championship door for rival Stefan Bradl (Viessmann Kiefer Racing-Kalex) who currently leads in the standings by three points and needs to win the Sepang race, which would give him a 28 point lead and mathematically become the new world champion with only one left race in the season.
Bradl qualified in second place yesterday behind Thomas Luthi and ahead of Michele Pirro.
